Pat Fitzsimons shared his journey through education
‘Conversations with Learners’ was hosted by the Irish Network of Learning Cities as part of the Global Learning Festival organised by Wyndham and Melton Learning Cities, Australia. This online event sought to promote learning across the island of Ireland by showcasing a learner’s story relevant to the themes of widening access to education.
On behalf of Dublin Learning City Pat Fitzsimons shared his journey through education. Pat did not learn to read until he was 18yrs of age but in 2021 obtained a Bachelor of Honors Degree from Institute of Art, Design and Technology and was also awarded the 1916 Bursary Award. Pat speaks about the importance of receiving the right supports and how this impacted his journey through education.
