Balkan folk dances with Slavi

I have been teaching Balkan folk dances in Dublin for the last ten years. These chain dances are suitable for all ages and can include as many people as the space allows. The patterns are repetitive.

I learnt the first dances from my parents as a child. Later continued in folk ensembles as a dancer. In 2014 I found the group for Bulgarian folk dances in Dublin. As my interest and contacts grew, I continued my research and expanded my knowledge of the folk dances. I keep finding information and proof how the folk dances are not limited by today’s administrative borders of the Balkan counries but they have roots that are older than contemporary borders.
