Traveller and Roma Culture and Heritage

Traveller and Roma Culture and Heritage
Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre advocates for Traveller and Roma human rights in Ireland and works to address inequalities and other issues faced by both groups. Founded in 1985, the organisation works in partnership with Travellers and Roma to promote participation, equality, and cultural recognition. Our work combines community development, policy advocacy, research, and frontline work across areas including health, education, accommodation, violence against women, youth, and cultural identity.
Join us for a talk exploring the arts, heritage and histories that are central to Traveller and Roma cultures, with a special focus on Roma culture in recognition of Roma Month. Speakers will share insights into Roma culture, heritage, and contemporary cultural expression, as well as the importance of visibility and recognition of Roma identity and history during Roma Month.
The event will highlight the importance of cultural heritage, storytelling, music, and creative practices in sustaining community identity and challenging stereotypes.
