AI Grand Prix
The AI Grand Prix was first held amongst Trinity students in 2024.
Participants are provided with a simplistic simulated autonomous driving platform and tasked with writing some basic python code to drive their vehicle around the track!
It’s a fun and competitive event and previous participants have all enjoyed it so far. It’s a good way to get people thinking and talking about multi-agent autonomous driving, albeit in a constrained environment with rudimentary sensor data.
It’s also a great way of engaging with python programming in a fun and interactive way. Participants do not need any prior programming knowledge, but must bring a laptop on the day.

Formula Trinity is Trinity College Dublin’s entry to the international Formula Student competition held annually at Silverstone Circuit in the UK. Each year the team designs, builds, tests and pitches a formula style race car, representing Irish motorsport and student engineering.
One of our key aims involves highlighting the fact that there is room for everyone, regardless of their strengths, to be involved in STEM.
