RCSI Online: Artist as Witness Series – RCSI & The 1916 Rising
This video explores the pivotal role of RCSI in the 1916 Rising due to its geographical location. It also explains the link between Countess Markievicz and Kathleen Fox, the artist who painted the scene of the Irish Citizen Army’s surrender at the doors of RCSI.
There will be an in person tour of RCSI on April 7th 2025 which you can register for here on the DLC website. This tour with RCSI’s Head Porter Frank Donegan, who grew up on York Street where RCSI is located, will focus on The 1916 Rising.
